Texas Flags-4-Veterans

Through our nonprofit, Texas Flags-4-Veterans, we present a state flag flown at the Texas Capitol in Austin to the families of veterans buried in Texas. Along with the flag, the family receives a certificate honoring the veteran from the Texas House of Representatives, signed by the Capitol Sergeant-at-Arms. Each flag is carefully housed in a decorative box featuring the Great Seal of Texas for safekeeping. This initiative provides a meaningful way for Texans to show the families of fallen veterans that their loved ones' sacrifices are valued and remembered.
The Warriors Remembrance Foundation is always seeking meaningful ways to honor veterans and their families. As proud Texans, we asked ourselves: why don't the families of fallen heroes buried in Texas receive a state flag? Many of these heroes were born and raised here or have lived in Texas for most of their lives. Even those who weren't born in Texas chose this great state as their final resting place, leaving us with the distinct honor of remembering and safeguarding their legacies.
When a veteran passes away, depending on the character of their discharge and service, they are entitled to a U.S. burial flag, which is presented to the family at the time of the funeral. The family also receives a Presidential Memorial Certificate in recognition of their loved one's service. These honors are given on behalf of a grateful nation, and we believe our great state should follow suit.
That's why we created Texas Flags-4-Veterans—to show the families of deceased veterans in Texas that we remember and honor their loved ones’ sacrifices to our nation. We are deeply proud that these heroes chose Texas as their final resting place, and we want to express how honored we are to carry on their legacies.
