Volunteer of the Month
February 2025
BILLY E. SHELTON
It is with great honor and gratitude that we recognize Billy E. Shelton as our Volunteer of the Month for February 2025. At 84 years old, Billy continues to serve his community and fellow veterans with the same dedication and passion he displayed during his time as a jump master in the 101st Airborne "Screaming Eagles" during the Vietnam era. A proud veteran, retired home builder, and cherished mentor, Billy has made a lasting impact on the Hill Country community.
Billy and his loving wife of 30 years, Linda, reside in Johnson City, Texas, where they raise horses on their beautiful Blanco County property. Together, they have built a life of love, service, and faith. Billy's commitment to honoring our nation's heroes is evident in the many ways he gives back. He proudly installed a 25-foot flagpole at the Gass Family Cemetery in Spring Branch, Texas, flying both the American and Texas flags—symbols of freedom, pride, and sacrifice.
Billy has been a cornerstone of our Coin-A-Veteran program, traveling across the Hill Country to distribute challenge coins to veterans, offering his thanks and gratitude for their service and sacrifice. He is also instrumental in promoting the Warriors Remembrance Foundation’s family support and veteran filing assistance programs, helping veterans navigate the complex claims process and access the benefits they deserve.
Billy's faith is at the core of his service. A devoted man of God, he is not only a mentor to our Founder, Nicholas Adian, but also to Nicholas' father, Big Nick. Through his unwavering belief in our Lord Jesus Christ, Billy’s spirit shines brightly, inspiring all those around him.
Billy E. Shelton embodies the values of service, faith, and patriotism. His dedication to our veterans and his community is a shining example of what it means to be a true hero. We are deeply grateful for his ongoing commitment to honoring our nation's heroes and supporting the Warriors Remembrance Foundation.
