James Horace Tamplin, a man of honor and dedication, began his journey on March 30, 1919, in Marshall, Texas. His life unfolded with a profound commitment to service and community. As a proud veteran of World War II, he bravely served in the US Army in the European Theater, earning recognition with the Bronze Star Medal for Valor under fire.

Throughout his life, James was deeply involved in various organizations, including Bulverde Baptist Church and the First Baptist Church of Bulverde, where he was a charter member. His dedication extended to his membership in the Kerrville Masonic Lodge No. 697 AF & AM, the Bulverde Optimist Club, and his role as a Docent for the Institute of Texan Cultures.

After a fulfilling career with Southern Pacific Transport, James cherished his family life with his wife of 40 years, Dorothy, and their children. He leaves behind a legacy of love and service, fondly remembered by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family.
