William ‘Willie’ Otto Eickmann

William Otto Eickmann, affectionately known as "Willie," lived a life of dedication, service, and love for his family and community. Born on June 28, 1941, in San Antonio, Texas, to Elmer O. Eickmann and Gladys Stahl Eickmann Pattison, Willie's journey was one of commitment and compassion.

After graduating from high school, Willie enlisted in the US Navy on February 28, 1959, proudly serving his country until his honorable discharge on February 27, 1965. On February 16, 1963, he married the love of his life, Arlene Laubach Eickmann, marking the beginning of a partnership built on love and devotion.

Willie began his career with Austin Power & Light in Austin before dedicating over 30 years to Houston Lighting and Power. Throughout his tenure, he made significant contributions, including serving on the Emergency Response Team, showcasing his commitment to safety and excellence.

A devout member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Needville, Willie was deeply involved in his faith community. He was also a 3rd Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus and an active member of the American Legion and the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, where he forged lasting friendships and made meaningful contributions.

Willie's greatest joy was spending time with his family, cherishing moments with his daughters and taking pride in his role as a grandfather. He was a true family man, whose love and support were unwavering.

Throughout his life, Willie remained dedicated to his community, making a positive impact and leaving behind a legacy of kindness and friendship. He will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

In addition to his loving wife, Arlene, Willie is survived by his daughters, Suzanne Brumbelow, Rebecca Christianson, and Christine Graf, along with a host of family members and friends who will cherish his memory forever.
