Gregory John Knaus, a man of unwavering devotion and profound compassion, transitioned to his eternal rest on February 23, 2015, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 71. Born on June 6, 1943, to the late Gus and Wanda Knaus, Gregory's life was a testament to love, service, and unwavering commitment.

Throughout his life, Gregory was a pillar of strength and support for his beloved family. He shared 50 beautiful years of marriage with his devoted wife, Annette Knaus, and together they raised a loving daughter, Dana Kleinman, and welcomed a cherished grandson, Cole Kleinman, into their lives. Gregory's love knew no bounds, and his role as a husband, father, and grandfather was central to his identity.

Gregory dedicated over two decades of his life to serving and protecting his community as a member of the San Antonio Police Department. Following his retirement from the force, he continued his service for another 17 years as a dedicated service agent with the SAPD. His unwavering commitment to upholding the law and ensuring the safety of others left an indelible mark on all who knew him.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Gregory was a man of deep compassion and generosity. He found joy in feeding the wildlife in his backyard, nurturing a connection to nature that reflected his kind and nurturing spirit. His acts of kindness extended beyond his backyard, as he dedicated himself to supporting charitable causes such as the Wounded Warrior Project and Boysville Inc.

Gregory's life will be remembered and celebrated by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of love, service, and compassion will continue to inspire and uplift those whose lives he touched. Though he may have departed from this world, his spirit will forever remain a guiding light for his family and all who were fortunate enough to call him a friend.
