Ernest "Ernie" Valentine Haack II, a man of integrity, love, and dedication, left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him. Born on June 14, 1933, Ernie's journey began in San Antonio, where he spent his formative years. After attending Central Catholic High School, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy, embodying the values of honor and service.

Returning to San Antonio, Ernie pursued his passion for geology, graduating from St. Mary's University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology in 1958. He went on to carve a distinguished career as a petroleum geologist, forming a successful partnership that spanned forty-two years. Ernie's expertise and contributions to the oil and gas industry in San Antonio were widely respected, earning him a place among the esteemed members of the Southwest Geological Society.

However, Ernie's true joy lay in his role as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He poured his time and energy into creating lasting memories with his beloved family. Whether spending quality time with his children and grandchildren in Sabinal, Texas, or tending to his horses on his ranch in Rio Medina, Ernie found fulfillment in the simple pleasures of life.

Ernie's legacy is one of hard work, determination, and an unwavering commitment to those he held dear. His passing on May 30, 2012, marked the end of a life well-lived, defined by love, laughter, and cherished moments. While he is preceded in death by his father and mother, Ernest Valentine and Rosalie Haack, Ernie's spirit lives on in the hearts of his loving family.

He is survived by his devoted wife of fifty years, Beatrice Marie Haack, and their children. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.

Ernie's quiet strength, kind heart, and enduring love will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though he may no longer be with us in body, his spirit will continue to guide and inspire those who were touched by his presence.

In the hearts of those who called him Ernie, his memory will live on, a testament to a life well-lived and a love that knew no bounds.
