Charles Anton Willms, born on June 5, 1921, in Fredericksburg, Texas, to Carl and Ottilia Becker Willms, embarked on a remarkable journey marked by courage, dedication, and profound love. As a young man, Charles's path was profoundly influenced by the tumultuous events of World War II. Answering the call of duty, he served with valor in the European, African, and Middle Eastern theaters of operations, earning accolades and recognition for his unwavering commitment to his country.

Following his honorable discharge from the military, Charles transitioned to Civil Service, dedicating himself to supporting the operations at Kelly Field until his retirement in 1975. Beyond his professional endeavors, Charles found solace and joy in his lifelong passions for hunting, fishing, and camping, instilling in his family a love for the great outdoors that would endure for generations.

A man of unwavering faith and commitment, Charles was a founding member of the Knights of Columbus Council #8521, where he served with distinction as Grand Knight, embodying the principles of faith, charity, and fraternity in all aspects of his life. His devotion to serving others and upholding the values of his community enriched the lives of countless individuals and families.

Throughout his 71 years of marriage, Charles remained a steadfast and devoted husband to Joan Willms, supporting and cherishing her through life's joys and challenges. Together, they raised a loving family and created cherished memories that would endure for generations to come.

Charles's legacy is one of love, courage, and unwavering dedication to his family and community. He leaves behind a lasting impact, survived by his daughters, Charlene French, Christine Dotson, and Kathleen Taylor, his son, Carl W. Willms, nineteen grandchildren, and thirty-five great-grandchildren.

Though Charles may have departed from this world, his spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His legacy of service, courage, and love will continue to inspire and uplift generations to come, leaving an indelible imprint on the fabric of his family and community.
